Robot Dreams - Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Dog lives alone and wants company. After watching the ads, Dog decides to order a robot. Robot comes alive after Dog assembles the parts. Since then, they have become best friends. They do everything together, from watching TV at home to roller-skating at the park.
One day, Dog takes Robot to the beach. Robot finds he can't move while lying down at the beach, and Dog doesn't have enough power to move him. Therefore, Dog decides to get back home first to get the necessary tools to move Robot the next morning. To his surprise, the beach is closed from now until June 1. Desperate to bring Robot home, Dog tries to sneak into the beach to save Robot. Unfortunately, he gets caught by the security guard and gets arrested. Dog is helpless, because he cannot find a way in. In the end, he decides to wait until June 1.
Though Robot can't move, he still misses his time with Dog. He has been dreaming about hanging out again with Dog, only to realize it's just a dream when he wakes up. A rabbit takes away his leg, but he can't move so he can't do anything about it. A monkey sneaks into the beach to search for metals and discovers Robot. He takes Robot out and sells him to an alligator. The alligator disassembles Robot.
On June 1, Dog goes back to the beach hoping to bring Robot home, but he can't see him anymore. He keeps digging holes, and the only thing he finds is one of Robot's legs. Dog returns home with disappointment.
A raccoon buys Robot's parts from the alligator and reassembles him with a boombox as his new body. The raccoon becomes the owner of Robot, while Dog has moved on by buying a new robot.
One day, while dining on a rooftop, Robot spots Dog hanging out with his new robot. Robot is about to chase down Dog, but he knows he shouldn't when Raccoon appears. Instead of reuniting with Dog, Robot plays their favorite song using his boombox. Dog can hear the music down there, and they start doing their final dance at the same time, but not physically together anymore.
It is always nice to have friends. Meeting Robot transformed Dog's life. He no longer had to do things alone and could share his joy with Robot whenever they were together. But some friendships aren't meant to last forever. They can drift apart, not by choice but by circumstance, just as when Robot became stranded at the beach. Even though Robot found a new owner and Dog moved forward with his new robot, their shared memories endure. Losing close friends is part of life, and new friendships will bloom in time. This is okay, because each friendship shapes us and teaches us to cherish those we care about. We learn to adapt to changes and sometimes must let go. Through this, we cope with loss and keep moving forward, staying open to new friendships and experiences.
